MBA verses PhD:
The Relevance of Higher Degrees in Today’s Business Climate


Dmitry Gvozdev is General Deputy Director of RuCom, a marketing and communications agency. While pursuing a higher degree from the Lomonosov School of Philosophy in political science, he changed course to earn an MBA from the Russian Federation’s International Business Academy of the National Economy, specializing in political management. He discusses his reasons for making this decision and the relevance of particular degrees to business success in Moscow.

Irene Gomzyakova is the head of the account department for Denis’ School, an international foreign language school. In contrast to most modern language classes, which rely on Western programs, the teaching system at Denis’ School is based on techniques developed by Russian scholars.
